Plenty of activities are available in each of the destinations and of course there is the trusty beach where you can set up camp for the day. For those who don’t like to fly, it’s time to rent out the kombi van you always wished you had and drive to your closest stop! Whether you are single, in a relationship or have six kids, these destinations are perfect for everyone. Whitsundays Known for its white beaches and access to the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsunday Islands are a must for anyone who wants a luxurious island experience. Now offering direct flights from spots around Australia, it has never been easier to access. The choice is yours on whether or not you want to stay in five star luxury or bungalow chic, either way make sure you hop on a boat over to Whitehaven Beach. The name says it all – it is literally a haven of white sand and crystal blue water although make sure to bring your sunglasses as it is prone to squinting! Blue Mountains, Sydney Less than a two hour drive from Sydney you will be transported from the energetic Sydney CBD to the lush wilderness of the Blue Mountains. A World Heritage Area, the Blue Mountains are home to some of the best accommodation spots as well as plenty to see and do. Whether you are into bush walking or not, the trails range from beginner to expert. If you are more up for relaxing, take the cable car or the famous scenic railway to experience some of the most stunning waterfalls, valleys and rugged sandstone tablelands. Port Douglas Just an hour’s drive from Cairns, you pass by the spectacular Great Barrier Reef to reach Port Douglas.
