A Little Taste of Conferencing...

22/4/2015

Ever wondered what everyone else is serving up for their conferences? As conferences can sometimes not be the most exciting thing in the world, we have collected a few tips to make it more exciting for both you and your attendees! Read below to find out more.
1.    Micro is the new macro
Bite sized meals are the new ‘it’ thing, no longer do guests want to sit through a three course meal. Instead why not have a wide range of small meals that guests can nibble on throughout the event? Not only does it break up the conference but it also encourages more talk among attendees and gives them another topic to talk about!

2.    Loco for local
In this day and age everyone wants to know where their food is coming from. Using the local produce is a great way to spice up your menu and promote the community. It is also a great way to promote your own organisation and shows that you support the area in which you operate.

3.    Keep it moving
Having multiple locations in which the conference takes place is a great way to keep the conference flowing. We all know hours in the same room can start the fidgeting so avoid this by having your conference in a room and then the food in another, perhaps outside. If your conference takes place on the beach or in a wine region, definitely use these to your advantage!

4.    Entertain with a food station
Similar to tip number 2, guests also love to see how their food is prepared and made. Food stations with an onsite chef are entertaining and a great conversation starter. You don’t need to have all of your foods presented in this way but something like tacos or pizzas are a great way to get guests involved.

5.    Funky cocktails
Cocktails with a bit of a twist to them has always been a long standing trend in any event. They add an element of surprise and can also be a memorable and unlikely element to your conference. In order to standout, sometimes you have to be unusual.
