Hosting your next conference or corporate event at a museum is a great way to entertain your guests with striking backdrops and curious discoveries. These venues offer more than just chairs to sit on and tables to dine at. The artwork, colour and lighting that a museum offers can inspire and engage a whole team. While there are many museums across Australia that vary in size, popularity and prestige, The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Tasmania has quite possibly one of the most innovative gallery spaces in Australia. MONA delivers innovative backdrops for functions or events seeking that special something. Whether you’re looking to host a gala dinner or a special awards ceremony, MONA is a great venue to consider. The museum has a large range of rooms on offer that host up to 450 people. The Void, for example, is located thirteen meters underground and features a stunning Triassic-aged sandstone wall along with a full cocktail bar. In this room, there is a long table that feasts up to 160 people or 450 cocktail-style. Another room to consider is the Nolan Gallery which is perfect for entertaining a wide range of corporate groups. The room seats up to 270 people and 450 cocktail style. On Tuesdays, your company can use these spaces exclusively as the museum is closed. MONA is currently building a hotel on-site that will be five-stars and have 172 rooms overlooking Mt Wellington. While there is no official opening day yet, the new hotel will include a theatre, spa centre, outdoor concert stage and a library, as well as conference and auditorium facilities. The hotel access will be mainly via the water, on Venice-style motoscafi ferriers dreamed up in collaboration with Mona’s ferry operators. This new development will be sure to provide a unique group experience that goes far beyond the conference room. For more information about this venue, please contact us today.
